Affectionately known as “Alphia of Africa,” Alphia Faith Kemokai is an award-winning youth development practitioner and passionate advocate for democracy and good governance. With more than eight years of leadership experience, she has dedicated her life to empowering young people to rise as leaders and active participants in politics across Africa.
She currently serves as the Program Manager of the Young Political Leadership School Africa (YPLS Africa) at Naymote Partners for Democratic Development, where she supports over 1,000 beneficiaries across 14 African countries through civic engagement initiatives, fellowships, dialogues, and advocacy programs.
Alphia’s impact has earned both national and international recognition. In 2023, she was named Liberia’s Development Youth of the Year by USAID. In 2024, she played a pivotal role in advocating for the creation of Liberia’s first-ever National Youth Advisory Council, a landmark milestone for youth inclusion in governance.
She describes herself as an emerging world leader propelled by purpose and guided by faith. Whether speaking on international platforms or mentoring at the grassroots level, Alphia continues to inspire and shape a new generation of leaders.
Beyond her professional journey, Alphia is deeply relatable—she turns to ice cream when stressed, enjoys cartoon movies with Rio as her favorite, and is an avid viewer of Frontline documentaries.
Alphia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and an Associate of Arts in Management, along with specialized certificates in leadership, elections management, and community organizing. She is an Obama Leader in Africa (2025/2026) and studied at the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute under the prestigious Suakoko Program for Female Diplomats.
