D. Freeman Myers

Biography

D. Freeman Myers is a distinguished youth leader, good governance advocate, intermediary data, and election analyst who hails from Grand Bassa County, Liberia.

He is a graduate of the University of Liberia with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Myers has gained recognition for his dedication to empowering young people and advancing civil society initiatives. His academic qualifications include an Advanced Certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation from Gonet Academy and a Certificate of Completion in Leadership, Elections, and Governance from the Young Political Leadership School, Africa. Away from Liberia, Myers also holds a Certificate in Civil Society Management from the 8th Cohort of YALI Regional Leadership Center in Accra, Ghana, which has, among other achievements, equipped him with vital skills to take on leadership roles.

Myers is a Research Project Associate at Naymote Partners for Democratic Development’s, and works on the President Meter Project (PMP) where he tracks, monitors, and evaluates President Joseph N. Boakai and his government performance. He has worked on several youth, governance, and development projects, further contributed to democratic processes by serving as a Data Analyst Assistant for the European Union Election Observation Mission during Liberia’s 2023 elections, ensuring transparency through data collection, visualization, and analysis. His 47-day contractional employment led to the generation of a fact-based report released on March 5, 2024, by the 2023 European Union Election Observation Mission in Liberia (EUEOM).

Additionally, Myers played a key role in the Election Democracy Activity Project’s youth leadership training as the Lead Facilitator for the Liberia Emerging Political Leaders Training Program (LEPLT), shaping at least 12,000 young emerging leaders across the 15 political subdivisions of Liberia, particularly on six major modules. Myers’ commitment to youth development extends internationally, having served as Assistant Research Director for the Global Youth Parliament Liberia Chapter.

His contribution is also energetic at the grassroots level, supporting educational initiatives as Program Coordinator for CELDI-Liberia and mentoring young leaders through the Youth Network for Educative Transformation (YONET). His leadership and dedication to youth development and governance have earned him recognition, including the title of Global Peace Ambassador, solidifying his commitment to positive change through local efforts for a global impact.
