CAPITOL HILL, Monrovia – Liberia’s leading Civil Society organization, Naymote Partners for Democratic Development, has identified with the Secretariat of the 55th Legislature with a total of four brand-new Lenovo laptop computers to enhance its works.
The gesture by NAYMOYE followed a day-long training program it organized in collaboration with the Legislative Information Service during which the institution observed the challenges faced by stenographers and engrossing clerks at the legislature in carrying out their duties due to a lack of basic working tools including computers.
Speaking during the presentation, Eddie Jarwolo, Naymote’s Executive emphasized the importance of empowering the various departments within the Legislature, highlighting the pivotal role played by legislative staffers in ensuring the smooth functioning of the legislative process. He stressed that by supporting the essential work of these staffers, the Legislature can further enhance its efficiency and effectiveness.
It will also promote accurate and timely legislative information which is essential for citizens to engage effectively with their elected officials, understand their performance against promises they made during the electoral campaign, hold them accountable for their actions, and appreciate them for their work.
