Women Leadership & Political Participation Training for Liberian Female Aspirants and Political Activists.
Are you a female aspirant for Liberia’s 2017 general election or are you interested in becoming a campaign manager? Do you want to increase women representation at the level of the legislature, win elections based on issues as well as participate in competitive politics and governance in Liberia? Here is an opportunity for you to enhance your political action skills and strengthen your capacity as a young women to become better candidates, advocates, campaign organizers, campaign workers and civic activists.
Naymote – Partners for Democratic Development hereby announces its call for applications for the maiden series of the Women Leadership & Political Participation (WLPP) Training for Liberia’s most outstanding female aspirants, political activists and community leaders.
The Women Leadership and Political Participation Training is designed to empower women to organize and conduct effective issue-based political campaigns as well as provide women practicum experiences to enhance their public speaking and political communication skills amongst voters. The program targets dynamic female legislative aspirants, political campaigners, community leaders, from political parties, civil society organizations, media institutions and community based organizations across Liberia, who are interested in strengthening their political organizing skills inorder to help address issues confronting women’s participation in politics and competitive elections in Liberia.
This series of the WLPP is a 3 months long program, starting on April 11, 2017, that will feature a 5 days political organizing training (April 11 – 15, 2017) followed by practicums which will provide the platform and resources for participants to interact directly with voters, while testing and enhancing their skills acquired from the training.
The WLPP training will empower women with knowledge and understanding on Campaign Planning and Management, Communication Techniques, Social Media Tactics and Strategies, Voters Targeting, Liberia’s Electoral Process, Media Engagement and Key Policy Issues that drive votes. Message Development, Public Speaking, and Political Communication will also be increased. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in political organizing and build relevant networks they need as women political leaders. Applications are invited from Liberian women between 19 – 55 years of age, living in Liberia.
The WLPP training will provide 100 outstanding applicants the opportunity to be eligible for the program. An applicant must be prepared to participate in the 5 days training at DEN-L, located in Gbarnga, Bong County, Liberia and other practicum activities following the training.
