Biography

Eddie D. Jarwolo is a Liberian civil society leader with over 20 years of professional experience advancing the principles of good democratic governance, the rule of law, and youth empowerment He is the Executive Director of Naymote Partners for Democratic Development (www.naymote.com) since 2001.

In 2016, Eddie created the Young Political Leadership School Africa (www.yplsa.org), in response to poor leadership, bad governance, and the exclusion of the youth from political and other decision-making processes across the African continent. The program is unique in Africa and puts Africa’s youth in the spotlight. Its overarching goal is to contribute to the formation of a new generation of socially conscious, character-driven political leaders who are accessible, responsive, and accountable to the African people. He has trained some of the well-known young politicians in West Africa. He is the founding member of the Elections Coordinating Committee, the largest domestic elections observation group in Liberia.

In 2017, Eddie initiated the President Meter project as a political accountability tool, this was the first in Liberia and results have been widely received by both citizens and political stakeholders. This initiative is now being used by national and international partners as a tool for political accountability in Liberia, identifying, documenting and reporting on campaign promises made by the elected president and performance against those promises made.
