Do you understand Child Support Under the Liberian Law?

WHAT IS CHILD SUPPORT?

Under the law of Liberia, both parents are responsible for the support of their children below twenty-one years of age. They should spend a fair amount of money for their children’s support. If the father refuses because the children are not living with him, the mother has the right to sue him, and he will be compelled to respect the courts order and help support the children. The case could be a civil case or a criminal case.

NAYMOTE with support from Carter Center is strengthening the rule of law in Liberia by enhancing access to justice for marginalized citizens with the goal of creating a responsive justice system that honors national laws and meets the needs of local communities.
